I am often struck by the number of people who avoid dental care because of fear. Sometimes the avoidance of dental treatment affects the enjoyment of food, the ability to smile easily, or is just downright painful.
I would be happy to discuss with you the methods I can use to avoid those things that cause anxiety and the techniques available to eliminate or reduce discomfort.
Dental fear can be a serious problem if it prevents you from getting the treatment you need. If you or someone you know has been putting off a dental treatment due to anxiety give me a call. It would be my pleasure to help you or someone you care about overcome their fears.

This month we will discuss a piece of equipment that is a must in your sporting bag as well as offering you more reasons to quit smoking if you haven't already.
Please let me know if you find these topics interesting and feel free to offer me suggestions as to what you would like to see in future issues.
Best regards to all. |

For The Team?
Mouthguards are flexible dental appliances, usually made of plastic materials, which are worn by athletes to protect teeth from possible damage.
Mouthguards can prevent major injuries including concussions, jaw fractures, neck injuries and more by preventing the lower jaw from impacting into the upper jaw.
|
 |
Mouthguards may also prevent bruising and laceration of the lips and cheeks.
Whenever there is a possibility of contact - either with other competitors or any immovable objects - the wearing of mouthguards is highly recommended.

Smoker? More Reasons to Kick the Habit!
The detrimental effects of smoking on health are well documented and generally accepted at this point.
Did you know that smoking also contributes to dental problems?
|
|
|
Not inhaling does not reduce the risk of dental problems. The toxins contained in both cigarettes and cigars increase the risk of oral cancer and gum disease. Even 'smokeless' tobaccos contain these toxins.
Quitting - or not starting - smoking is the only answer: ask me about getting help!
