The summer is simply flying by and believe it or not September is right around the corner. It is easy to forget to book your before school, after vacation, dental cleaning, so here is a reminder. Dr. Freedman recently returned from Texas after attending the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain annual symposium. He is full of new knowledge and ideas that will undoubtably help our patients alleviate their headaches and/or facial pains.
His 10 month old son is growing cuter by the day, and bringing joy to his dad's life on a daily basis. Those of you who have been in recently understand how proud Dr. Freedman is of his son. 1. Dental Check Ups Include Oral Cancer Screenings. Dental check ups include screenings for oral cancer, a serious oral disease of the mouth, lips, or throat, but highly curable if detected and treated early.
2. Gum (Periodontal) Disease Affects Your Overall Health. One of the principal causes of tooth loss, gum disease has also been linked to heart disease. If detected early, it can be treated and reversed.
3. Dental Cleanings and Check Ups are Extremely Important to your Wellbeing. Your dentist needs to prevent problems before they happen: regular check ups and cleanings will help to maintain proper oral hygiene.
4. Brush and Floss Daily. This helps to prevent cavities by removing the plaque which causes tooth decay. The daily practice is extremely important in preventing gum disease.

5. Bad Breath, could be the result of a dental problem. In most situations, there is a direct link between bad breath and a dental condition. Mouthwash will only mask the problem, not treat it.

1. Use a soft toothbrush for thorough and gentle cleaning.
2. Hold your brush at a 45 degree angle. Begin by brushing the outside of the front teeth. Use gentle, half-tooth wide, circular strokes.

3. Next, brush the outside back teeth, starting along the gumline.
4. For the inside back teeth, use short, angled brush strokes.
5. For the inside front teeth, tilt the brush vertically, and use a down motion.
6. For the chewing surfaces, hold the brush flat, and use a gentle circular motion.
