September 2008 - Back to School Edition!
September is a busy month filled with excitement and changes. New jobs and projects, new schools, new activities, new opportunities!
This month also plays hosts to the Terry Fox Run with events across Canada raising money for cancer research, as well as World Heart Day. |
September 22 is the first day of autumn, a favourite season among many in our office. Soon the leaves will change colour and our warmer clothes will make their way to the front of our closets.
We will also have the opportunity to partake in the many activities that present themselves this time of year. These include nature hikes, indoor sporting leagues, and a family favourite, apple picking. If you are in the Toronto area during the evening of October 4th plan to explore the contemporary art exhibits of 'nuit blanche'. |
If you are enrolling yourself or your children in a sporting league this season, we strongly recommend speaking to us about protecting your teeth. A properly fitted mouthguard will add a level of safety that over the counter alternatives may not provide. You can read more about mouthguards in this month's article.

Wishing you countless reasons to Smile,
Dr. Freedman and the Team at BDHC

Mouthguards are flexible dental appliances worn by athletes to protect teeth from possible damage. They are usually made of plastic materials that fit comfortably over your teeth and gums.
There are over the counter variations available, but for the highest level of protection we recommend a custom fitted mouthguard that is made specifically for your smile.

Look both ways before you cross the street, always hold an adults hand and brush your teeth after every meal were good pieces of advice when you were young.
Well guess what; you should always look both ways, it's nice to hold someone's hand and you should still brush your teeth after every meal. |
Make a habit out of keeping a tooth brush at the office and take a moment to clean your teeth after lunch, (your email can wait).
Keep your office tooth brush well covered, dry it after each use and change it more frequently than your home brush (due to office germs).
Brushing your teeth will help protect them from decay, refresh you, and get rid of the garlic taste from that pasta you ate, your mouth will appreciate it and so will your coworkers! |
