September is a busy month filled with excitement and changes. New jobs and projects, new schools, new activities, new opportunities!

This month also hosts the Terry Fox Run with events across Canada raising money for cancer research, as well as World Heart Day.

September 22 is the first day of autumn, a favourite season among many in our office. Soon the leaves will change colour and our warmer clothes will make their way to the front of our closets.

We will also have the opportunity to partake in the many activities that present themselves this time of year. These include nature hikes, indoor sporting leagues, and a family favourite, apple picking.
If you are in the Toronto area during the evening of October 4th plan to explore the contemporary art exhibits of 'nuit blanche'.

If you are enrolling yourself or your children in a sporting league this season, we strongly recommend speaking to us about protecting your teeth. A properly fitted mouthguard will add a level of safety that over the counter alternatives may not provide. You can read more about mouthguards in this month's article.

If you know of someone who would benefit from our dental services, please let us know.
We truly appreciate your confidence and your referrals!

Please remember to let us know if there have been any changes to your plan before your next visit. As always, if you are unsure of your policy's details, review it carefully, contact your provider or bring it in with you and we will help you understand your coverage.

There are over the counter variations available, but for the highest level of protection we recommend a custom fitted mouthguard that is made specifically for your smile.

Nutrition plays an important role in preventative dentistry.

Foods with antioxidant qualities help your body to fight bacteria that cause tooth decay, while foods high in calcium strengthen teeth and bones.

A well balanced diet is important in all aspects of your life ...including your oral health.
Please ask us if you'd like more information on nutrition and your health.
